Football rivalry week

Kicking off the dog days of the offseason with this. My proposal for rivalry week in the SEC going forward
Thanksgiving night: Lone Star Showdown, Texas vs Texas A&M
Black Friday afternoon: Give us back the Golden Boot game. LSU-Arkansas
Saturday everything else. Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl, the 4 ACC vs SEC games. Tennessee vs Vandy. And that leaves Missouri vs Oklahoma.
Right now they have it Arkansas-Missouri and LSU vs Oklahoma. No rivalries there.
Missouri and Oklahoma both are old Big 8/Big 12 teams, perfect. While the Golden Boot may be a little forced and not as old as these other rivalries, I feel there’s definitely more juice there than with Arkansas vs Missouri.
Even though it didn’t end up hurting in the grand scheme of things, I’m still scarred from the Darren McFadden game in 2007. Guess that’s why I hold the Golden Boot game in high regard

There was an historic rivalry game in Louisiana on the Saturday after Thanksgiving for most of the last 100 years. It needs to resume.

If Georgia can close at Non-SEC Georgia Tech and Florida close at Non-SEC Florida State and South Carolina close at Non-SEC Clemson, then LSU can close at Non-SEC Tuck Fulane

It just can’t be played in their 30,000 seat stadium every other year. It would have to be in the Dome. Maybe even a 3-1 Tiger Stadium/Superdome agreement.

Yep give me Tulane. Play it at the Dome or play it at Yulman. Dont care

They have played 75 of the last 100 years and not in the last 15 of those. Some of the games were on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and some were not. The last 10 meetings were not; 1990 was the last time they played on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
LSU is 45-4-1 in the last 50 meetings. Curley Hallman was 4-0 vs Tulane.
It would only make sense to LSU if it were played in Tiger Stadium; that is what LSU does with schools from lower-tier conferences.
Maybe opening the season vs Tulane every year, I could get behind that.

No Yulman. It would be a total cluster. Has to be the Superdome.
It would have been a great game in 2022. At least we can beat USC.

Black Friday afternoon: Give us back the Golden Boot game. LSU-Arkansas

Let it go. LSU establishing a rivalry with Oklahoma would be more favorable to this Arkansas one that had fizzled out.

Also, Tulane like Ga Tech were SEC founding members.

I’m actually sort of ok with playing Oklahoma the last week of the season. Part of me thinks that could be fun as that tradition goes on.

Would rather play Arkansas around Thanksgiving than A&M.

I expected this post to be stupid or a troll. It was not. I like this idea.
