Next year's pitching staff will be tops in the country without any portal help coming.

Since Jay's first year pitching has made a 180 degree difference. Look at all the talent coming back
Noot
Rizy
Evans
Schmidt (Smith)
Williams
Cowan
Sheerin
Guidry
Ware
Hopefully, all these guys will stay and not transfer. Maybe we need one more left hander, but that is it

If they all come back.
Seriously was Ware hurt? He pitched once pretty good and fell off badly.

I hope so. But everybody on that list, outside of Evans and Cowan would need to take a huge step forward.

I went to Biloxi and watched him pitch the exhibition game. He looked untouchable

He got the start against DBU and shut them down for a few innings as well, if I'm remembering correctly. Ware, Schmidt, Rizzy all seem to have the stuff, but it was hit or miss if they would command it.

We don’t know for sure that Cowan is staying. It would likely benefit him, but he may be set on heading to the draft now.
I’m not sure we can 100% count on Guidry coming off an injury.
Primeaux, Fontenot, and Benge may hit the portal, but each could also return. I would be surprised if any of those three left for the draft.
We definitely need more lefties and we may need another potential starter. I like Noot and Schmidt, but we can’t guarantee both take the major steps forward to be winning SEC starters. I feel pretty good after what we saw from Cowan in Omaha, but he may not be here. We also don’t know exactly what Sherrin will look like. Schmidt has dynamite stuff, but that doesn’t always translate into being fully ready for that role.

I seriously doubt Jay isn't getting any pitchers from the portal

It may be more like Cowan- command slipped a bit and it got in his head. But he never bounced back from it, where Cowan did in on the biggest stage in Omaha.

I don't know why Cooper Williams' season gets so overlooked.
A freshman lefty with a 1.80 ERA is outstanding.

Very interested in Sheerin personally. Schmidt could take an Anderson-like jump. Ware looked big time early on so hopefully he keeps progressing. Williams was surprisingly solid all year. Going to be a good staff. We need another lefty though I'd imagine. Can Williams develop into a starter?

Not to say it can't happen, but local guys like Primeaux thst get some time on the mound, you have to think they stay unless they get a strong arse offer from somewhere else, or Jay tells them it might be time to go.

Lefty pitchers are where we need to keep an eye out for. I know there are some incoming freshmen but I would expect Jay to find a few in the transfer portal. Reliable lefties are a most.

We'll lose some we don't expect and pick up at least someone bigtime. Things are looking good on paper, though.

We gotta get some additional good hitters/sluggers but can you imagine if we go back to Omaha next year and win it all again? The dynasty part 2 talk would 100% be legitimized.

Marcos Paz. Remember the name.

We just haven’t seen him go for that many innings at a time. But at the very least he looks like one of our top relievers next season.
It will be interesting to see if he can add or improve another pitch or two and get stronger. If so, he could get into the running as a starter.

Whatever happened to Kade Woods

Noot, Rizy and Williams all performed well when called on serving half of the season.

Rizy was a little more hit and miss on command, but he was also a freshman trying to control a cannon. I expect him to be a valuable arm next season. Would love to see him step into Shores’ late season role as flame throwing closer.
