Looking to do a long weekend trip to both places. My boy would love to dig till his hearts content at the crater of diamonds. Any suggestions on what to do or where to stay at both places?

I live 13 miles from the diamond mine. There's a small water "park" there at the mine. It will be tremendously hot out there on the field. Try and go after a big rain, it helps with bringing the diamonds up to the surface. There's a lake there in Murfreesboro, where the mine is. Lake greeson. It's got a nice marina called swaha right there at the dam. Campground there as well. Hot Springs is about an hour from Murfreesboro. I'm the last person to give you advice about hot springs, I think it's a dump but that's probably more to do with proximity bias. There's a place in Murfreesboro called the feed bin Cafe, they have live music usually on Friday and Saturday nights. In Nashville, about fifteen minutes from Murfreesboro there's a place called fisherman's cove, it's got really good food.

Good info to have. My wife's been trying to get me take her there for years.

Can't overstate that enough.
Bring an umbrella or something to find some shade while you dig.

I think I can confidently say this is the first time Nashville, Arkansas has ever received a food recommendation/shout out on this board!

Have rubber boots handy in case it’s muddy at the “mine”. For reference, when you walk out there it does not resemble a “mine”. It resembles 30 acres of plowed mud field. After a rain is a good idea, but there are hundreds of rocks per square inch and the diamonds look like rocks in their raw form.

It’s fun, but once is enough.
