Hog Euro Mount - how to?

If you don't want something visibly holding it open, I imagine you could glue a small dowel or something in the back of the jaw (both sides) to keep it open.

Yeah, that is about what I found in my limited search on this topic. Seems like you it would need a screw or two, in addition to epoxy. Trying to figure out how to keep it clean and not noticable, as this is for a family friend's son. I'm probably overthinking it, like I do most times.

Any 5 min epoxy is going to work, just have to find a way to hold it stable while the joint sets, that’s going to be the trick

Blow up a balloon then pop it when done.

Might try lightly tying the pieces .. then lay a balloon in between and blow it up with a straw.

Move it around, retie till happy and tape or tie the balloon shut when right. You're out the cost of a balloon (or condom) and a straw.
