I've been running PPSA for almost 2 years straight now and wanted to take a break and try to get back into more of a bodybuilding style. Ran across his website on reddit and his programs look legit but they're expensive as frick so wanted to get some reviews first.

Most people on reddit say they're awesome but some say they're to intense for nattys. I will say that the only bodybuilding program i've ever done was Kris Gethin's 12 week muscle builder program and i thought the leg days were ridiculous and unrealistic for a natty and im pretty sure they're why my knees are still fricked up today. I'm not a beginner but i do work shift work so my sleep schedule can sometimes be hectic affecting recovery.

I may try one of his intermediate ones like Warlock

I pulled the trigger on Warlock which is one of his Intermediate ones. Its a 4 day a week plan 2x upper body and 2x lower body per week for 8 weeks. Dosent look to bad but i havent done full leg days in awhile so we'll see how my knees hold up. Going to sub something else for squats

They are very good, suggest starting with warlock and then one of the ppl programs. Gamma bomb was prolly my favorite but been a while. Realize you will need bands for his programs

If it makes you feel better about cost, the profits go to support his kids as John passed couple years ago due to a vein disorder. His kids are middle school, oldest might have started high school

John was a great father and a very good person

I really enjoyed Meadows/Tate program Unity. It's pretty hard. I didn't stay with it because it takes FOREVER to finish a workout. Also, the bulgarian dropset of death is legit torture.

Sheesh…First upper body workout took 2 hours yesterday. Going to have to cut down those 3 minute break times. Chest is pretty sore from those decline dumbbell burnouts. Love how he explains exactly how he wants each set done and to what intensity. Off to do the first leg day which dosent look as long

Quick update on this: 5 of 8 weeks down on Warlock and i dont think ive ever looked better. I feel like ive smashed though a plateau ive had for awhile, and im pretty sure its because every set is train to failure which i havent always done. I love this program. I wasn't sure i was going to stick with it due to the upper body days being 1.5-2 hours long but once i learned the exercises and workouts by heart and didnt need to keep referring to the to the booklet i was able to speed it up to about 1.5 hours. If im in a hurry i cut some of the feeder and warm up sets that john loves since most the time im already warmed up anyway

Wasn't sure how my knees were going to hold up doing 2 full leg days a week but they're feeling great and my legs are showing it. Never worked my hamstrings and glutes this much in my life. He's a big believer in starting every leg day by punishing the hamstrings first. Had to get over the uncomfortableness of barbell hip thrusts in a packed gym Im learning alot doing some exercises ive never done before and they all feel great. Excited to get into one of his more intense ones after this one is done.

Finished Warlock last week. I liked the first 4 weeks better than the 2nd 4 weeks, but i did take a trip to new york in the middle of the program and my diet never recovered for the 2nd half (pizza up there is just to good) which i think affected my overall gains.

Starting the new one that came out this year, Scorpion, which is by Cris Edmonds, John's protégé'. Its an 8 week 5 day/week traditional bodybuilding with a focus on back and arms. Looks intense as frick. Will report back

I've got a lot of them. I love taskmaster. Thinking of getting Scorpion and Sub-Zero even though they're not by John.

i just got scorpion and its pretty good. Chris does a good job as he helped John write a couple of the last programs released before John passed.

Finished day 1 of scorpion yesterday which was legs. It was brutal, but doable. I've never done Adductors before my inner thighs are screaming today lol. Excited for back day today and i like how he incorporates cardio as well, have gotten away from that the last year or so

I went ahead and got both new ones. He said Reptile will be released 10/15. I like the programming, I like them as much as PPSA maybe more. How often do they put out new programs (PPSA)? I have 28 of those.

Meadows…I dunno how many Chris is gonna put out. I have all the old ones including the ones no longer for sale like X & Y.

Ppsa will prolly out another program out Nov or Jan. They usually drop roughly 3 a year or so. Maybe a couple more depending on how busy Aaron is with his son and the sprites deal he has

Are Doomsday and the Beyonder worth purchasing? I'm debating purchasing them, especially the Beyonder. Thanks!

Week 1 of scorpion in the books. Today was the first time I’ve ever dedicated a full day to just arms lol. Loving it so far. This program really punishes the lats. Day 4 was just straight lats/hams

beyonder is legs, push, pull with option to double ppl so up to 6 days a week. is an advanced program, more emphasis on push and pull and less arms

doomsday- roughly a 7 week program, that is legs, push, pull, arms plus optional to add additional legs, push, pull days to be up to 7 days a week.
Its very much an advanced program

both of the above are 1.0 style programming from JM.

if you havent done creeping death 1 or gamma bomb, I highly suggest you start there. Gamma bomb prolly the best to start

understand that pretty much all of programs other than the ones listed as intermediate are pretty damn advanced.

Not going to lie, i pussied out on the week 2 leg day yesterday. That leg press 6 drop set blew me away, i still have a headache this morning from the strain. I couldnt stand up for 5 minutes after I packed my shite and went home after that. No way i was doing the hack squat and bulgarians he listed after. Going to have to get these legs more conditioned to pain
