Swing and a miss. If they couldn't come up with something clever using the number 8 that also looked good in print, they should have just gone with something more generic. That will look like shite on a wall.

The older one’s you posted were covers of the sports section, not the entire newspaper. Those are equivalent to these from 2023 and 2025:

Those are both arse in comparison to the old ones. Way more open space in the way they cropped the photos. Not as high quality of an all around job as the previous ones. And now they’ve broken the 7 in a row “!” exclamation point header streak with UNDISPUTED. “RING IT UP!” in 23? Jesus…
