Why is Stanfield likely going?

A few years ago you go with junior leverage, but is he that high of a prospect? Could see him sticking around in the NIL era.

I think if Noot comes back he’s in the weekend rotation and has a very solid year.

I think Larson comes back if Frey goes and Stanfield goes.

Atleast it’s not a complete rebuild like last title year. I think stanfield returns. Frey is a top priority. Guidry could seriously still go. But Johnson could get players from coastal Carolina if he wanted.

Mayers is likely gone. Jay said it himself a few weeks ago. His velo alone will get him drafted.

I would be shocked if Guidry left. He’s not really a finished product as a pitcher and really needed this year. Plus pro teams will likely want to be sure his back is no longer an issue before drafting him. He can’t even pitch right now to prove that he will be ok.

I 100% agree with Guidry. Think there’s very little chance he leaves due to coming off injury. But he’s got more of a shot than a lot of the other guys.

Maybe I was just being hopeful with Mayers. Would love to have that 100 arm sitting in the pen getting more innings next year

Schmidt and Rizy have that kind of velo, but they need to tame it this offseason.

Two more I was thinking about.

Cowan could get drafted, but his lack of a consistent fastball isn’t helping him outside of college baseball. If he came back next year and either started or went back to being the high leverage reliever like he was this season, and improved the fastball, he would dramatically improve his stock. He showed a bit of this shaking up his pitch mix in his last outing, but a better fastball with a little more velocity would make him a better pro prospect.

Noot- he has the stuff to be a weekend starter next season. He just needs to refine it and be able to go at least 5 innings.

WAY TOO EARLY 2026 PREVIEW

LF - Curiel
CF - Brown
RF - Larson/Frey
3rd - Simpson
SS - Milam
2nd - Dardar
1st - Frey/Pearson
C - Arrambide
DH - Yamin/Pearson

Friday - Evans
Saturday- Noot/Sheerin
Sunday - Schmidt
Mid Week - Noot/Williams

Closer - Guidry/Rizy

A lot of innings - Primeaux/ others that return or don’t make rotation starts

Most interesting thing is that we don’t really need much from the portal it seems, but I think Jay will still get a couple more pieces and competition.

My little girl asked Guidry if he was coming back next year after the super regional win and he said yes.

My little girl is 10 and basically gets every single aspect of baseball and the importance of players lol
