I've no doubt that Deuce would restructure if it were just a money issue, but unfortunately Deuce doesn't fit into Payton's plans. It's really a shame that an "offensive genius" can't find a way to use someone like Deuce.

This is a very good article and is a pretty good assessment of several key questions being asked around Saints town right now.

It is also a good example that I checked my email this morning, saw this article, decided it was good enough to post, but SEARCHED first and saw this thread.

Can't say that enough for the lazy reposters...

This is the same thing that happen with Joe Horn. Sean Payton doesn't like good players who been injured. He rather keep younger players who aren't as good "Reggie Bush" then keep someone who might get injured. If would of played Deuce on some key plays we would of won a lot more games and gone to the playoffs. But no he wants to play a running back who is only like because of what he did in college. If he would of been an ok player at USC he wouldn't even be starter for any team in the NFL. Face it people he's not a starting running back and he drops too many screen passes that hit him in the hands to be a WR. So I say keep Deuce in tell he can't run anymore, because I haven't seen signs that he can't.

Not to hate on Deuce because I love the guy and all he's done but have you seen any signs that he can? And if so, have those signs said he will be able to produce 7.3 million bucks worth? I hate to see him go but I don't believe the Sean or the Saints have a choice here unless Deuce will rework his contract BIG time

Look football is a game of inches. And that's what deuce can get us. The inches that reggie bush is too weak for. How many games did we loss because we didn't play deuce? Aleast 3. So if sean Payton would just suck it up and treat deuce like they need him I'm sure he would take a paycut.

6,096 Career Yards Rushing, 4.3 YPC career avg, 49 rushing TDs, 5 receiving TDs, 1720 career receiving yards

Last Season?
418 yards rushing, 3.9 YPC, 5 rushing TDs, 1 receiving TD, 128 receving yards...seeing erratic, limited use during the 13 games he was active.

Dude, PT was best in the NFL at not getting stuffed for a loss while Reggie was one of the worst.

Dude, what was your point? PT got those 3rd/4th and short carries usually, not reggie. PT got stuffed. most of it was playcalling/oline but I was responding to the guys post bashing reggie when he wasn't even in during those situations. Reggie usually got it when he was in there

At Washington:
3rd and 1 at NO 37 (4:34) P.Thomas right tackle to NO 37 for no gain (C.Griffin, C.Horton).

At Denver:
3rd and 1 at DEN 24 (2:19) P.Thomas right guard to DEN 25 for -1 yards (D.Williams).
Two-Minute Warning

At Carolina:
4th and 1 at CAR 37 (2:24) D.McAllister up the middle to CAR 37 for no gain (T.Davis).

At Tampa Bay:
2nd and 1 at TB 30 (9:30) P.Thomas right tackle to TB 30 for no gain (D.Brooks, K.Carter).

those are arguably the 4 biggest short yardage situations of our season

Anyone else seeing a problem up front? Its hard to pick up the needed yardage with absolutely no hole or no push coming up front. Can't lay all the blame on Thomas, Duece, Reggie, or Payton

I think alot of it had to do with no commitment to the run. we ran well in the first game, then just kind of gave up on the run until bush got hurt. the players then talked to payton and told him to stick with the run and you saw thomas tear it up for 6 games. it also helps that when thomas gets a significant amount of carries we run well, as he is clearly the best rb on the team.

I think you guys that want to re-sign Deuce will see that he's no longer an effective back in the NFL,by the lack of another team even considering to offer Deuce.I love the guy,but its time.............
