Supposedly there’s two deals ready to go that the nba asked to finalize and announce until after the final

If tweet fails to load, click here. Jalen Green is likely headed elsewhere, Phoenix didn’t want him while having Booker

So now this division has KD & Wemby in it... and we have Zion for 1/4 of the time

Don’t leave out Cooper Flagg/AD/Kyrie etc. sucks to be us for sure.
Very curious what now happens with Green.

Wow they didn’t give up Eason , Jabari or Reed which is surprising. Suns should trade Booker and rebuild honestly

I won’t lie, I don’t think Green is great but giving up a 23 year old for a 37 year old KD (will be 37 when the season starts I believe) is a choice

Considering the assets Houston has, that was pretty cheap.

Allows them to give more minutes to Thompson, Reed, and Whitmore. And allows them to pay and keep both Smith Jr and Eason.
They needed to dump Green at some point and the opportunity was there.

Honestly I think both teams got better here
If KD stays healthy
If KD stays healthy

#10 and Green for Herb and Olynyk(23?)? Suns save money and go super defensive with Herb and Dillon, lol.

Green is not a winning player

quote:Jalen Green just isn’t the guy people expected him to be when he was drafted. He’s a horribly inefficient scorer and hasn’t improved there since the day he was drafted. The only value he has is that he’s still young and therefore there is still the possibility that he can realize his potential. As for the player himself as he is.. he’s not great. The Rockets know it. To get anything of value for him before he ages more is a win.

I bet you are ecstatic Whitmore has a path to consistent playing time now.

Cam is a better scorer than Jalen Green. He just hasn’t gotten the minutes. So yeah, that’s a plus

Oh I agree. I’m not a fan and just having fun. Though he is only 23 and super talented. He’s a complete black hole on the court a lot of the time.

Let’s see what Phoenix can get for him. My only point is this is a win now move for Houston but I still don’t think it pushes them towards a title. They have quite a few nice young pieces, but they’re just that, pieces. I would have chased someone else, not a 37 year old KD that’s going to miss a lot of time every year. I would also agree with you about Green, but I would also argue 23 is still too young to give up on a guy. 24 or 25 is historically when guys take off.

24 or 25 is a player’s prime. They usually take off before then. Year 2 they really show something and year 3 they take off. Look at Sengun, for example of how good players progress. Jalen Green is the same player since the day he was drafted.
And they didn’t chase KD. They gave up very little for him. This wasn’t an all-in move that will make or break the team. This was an opportunistic trade where they could get a great player for very little.

Eventually this is the type of limited return we’ll get for Zion.

Yeah, I don’t think us Pelicans fans can talk shite about Green tbh. He does well against us.
