Congratulations on surviving that awful drive to Omaha from Baton Rouge. Did it once and never again! I fly from now on.

Can you believe some people are worried about overpopulation?

Got to Omaha in just under 5 hours driving from central Louisiana. When I arrived there was about a mile long line of cop cars behind me for some reason.

Pssssst. The concerns about overpopulation is about the resources required to sustain a high quality of life. Not not having place to physically put people. Empty space in flyover states doesn’t change that.

When I drove up there in 2009, saw a couple of coyotes dragging a dead deer from the shoulder of the road. Definitely the highlight of the drive. Definitely worth it though. Enjoy the experience. Geaux Tigers!!!!

Resources like what? Oil? Water? Food?

And minerals.
For the standard American diet you need around 1.5 acres of commercial agriculture per year per person.
And then each American consumes around 40k lbs in minerals each year. Raw materials of commercialism.
It adds up. Especially when you don’t think in terms of homesteads, but cities.
Not endorsing overpopulation claims, but I’m aware the topic is hell of a lot more complex than “Durrrr I see open land so duh we can fit more people.”

Counted 16 dead deer in Missouri interstate
Zero in ark
They like road kill apparently
