two major insurance companies got their “spokespeople” for commercials from two actors from this show.

I liked this show when it came out, but in hindsight, it’s not very good.

You’re right. Wasn’t really sure how to word it because I wasn’t sure if spokesperson was the right word. I changed it. Still not sure if spokesperson is right, but frick it.

I did a rewatch a few months ago... I still liked it- way more dong than I had remembered.

It’s not well written and some of the subplots are bad, IMO.

There are only so many times prisoners can be walking in dark unattended hallways at night to kill someone.
The show was over the top ridiculous from the start but it really was eye rolling bad by the end.

After re-watching it probably 10 years ago I felt it wasn’t good writing either. Like as soon as a certain type of prisoner dies a new one just happens to show up for his tour of duty in the prison so to speak. I just thought it was way too convenient and the story overall Was not near as good as what we get shortly after with the Sopranos.

The Allstate character is heavily based on the character of Dennis from 30 Rock. If Farmers had based their character on Simmons’ in Oz, it would be epic.

If the story was realistic the experimental unit would have been closed after a few episodes. It’s been a while since I watched it but don’t they basically get more freedom to move around after the riot?

Other than the homo stuff, I liked the first 3.5 seasons. Once a certain character died midway through Season 4, it jumped the shark with the storyline.
