Braves have a bunch of important divisional games coming up with no off days. Sale showed last night what extra rest can do for him, and Strider's latest start also came with an extra day. If Fuentes shows out pretty well, I could see us rolling with a 6 man rotation for a bit.

Rushing him like this is pretty weird/dumb, just like it was with AJSS. The way this organization is handling young pitchers is bizarre, particularly so in a season where we are 6 games below.500.

Encouraging back to back starts from strider.

Yeah, very nice to see him bounce back a bit.

First series where this team has made me feel something.

If we win every series the rest of the way we’ll be 94-68.
I misfigured it before. We actually have a 5 game series with Miami that we can lose 2 of and still win. No 2 game series left so the rest we can lose 1 each and win.
94-68 would put us at 2nd wildcard if everybody keeps same winning percentage.

I think this is the 3rd time we’ve been back this season. 3rd time’s a charm.

I’m still a bit skeptical like you. But being at the Tuesday and Wednesday games, the atmosphere felt different. The crowd energy was there…maybe mostly due to the opponent. But it sure was fun watching Sale strike out the winner of the Douchebag 500, Pete Alonso, three times.
That said, this schizophrenic team might lose 2 of 3 in Miami and 3 of 4 at Citi Field.

I don't see it as dumb. We have about a month and some change before the trade deadline. AA is likely looking to see if we can plan to fill any rotation voids with internal options or if we need to go out and acquire a piece at the deadline. If Diddler shows out like Schwellenbach did, great. If he falters like AJSS or Waldrep did after their first call ups, then he knows we need to go get someone.
Keep in mind, the above is only in the event we have an injury or something and need a reliable arm to fill the 5th spot in the rotation on a short term basis. If a Sale or Strider get hurt, then we are likely screwed or maybe we get a legit arm at the deadline.
