Dude was a legit LHP coming out of HS.

Just as Kade was a legit OF and rake threat.

The “oh what could’ve been” is if Guidry and Sheerin hadn’t got injured. It would be really nice to have them right now.

I don’t understand why Jay doesn’t let some of these kids do both. It’s not unheard of. The OP is correct, Jake Brown was a top 2 high school pitcher in the state of Louisiana his senior year. I’m certain he could do as much as some of our lefty relievers.

Jake talked about his pitching ability at the college level and it sounds like from what he said that he made the right choice to focus on being a position player.

I completely agree Meaux

Jake did get on the mound in practice last week to simulate Root for the boys.. thought that was cool

With the 34 man rosters next year dual threats are gonna be that much more valuable

Kim Mulkey as Herm Johnson's mom, who also installed the white PVC under the west stadium.

Go back to being a SCe fan?
I mean vs RHP, Brown is excellent unless said RHP has a wicked change that breaks away from the lefties. Against LHP <.100 BA (that’s not so good).
Pitching? Maybe go to practice and watch before you open your pie hole

Fast enough to get around the OL, but what then? The QB might swat him away.

He let Dalton Beck do both this season.
He let Jake Brown do both in the fall until it was obvious that Brown wasn’t effective on the mound.
He also let Casan Evans do both in the fall, and in Evans own words he decided he wasn’t cut out to hit SEC pitchers.

He also had an arm injury in 2024 and was unable to pitch

Jake said as much on a recent interview with the Mik'd Up crew.

Even Jake Brown said he didn’t think his pitching was up to snuff in the SEC.

I think the decision to let Anderson pitch only has worked out well for all parties considering he has become a dominant ace, shut down the best offense in the CWS, and is about to be drafted 1st or 2nd overall.

Some of you guys are never happy
