Or do they try to save him for Wednesday?

I don’t see him pitching before Wednesday unless a late inning close game like Eyanson vs Little Rock if necessary game.

They'll pitch him if they need him in relief for sure. I think he only pitched 20 or so against LSU.

If they win more likely he pitches Wednesday unless they have no choice but to use him.

I think Root is pitching against LSU regardless of the day we play Arkansas.

Even if it’s next season?

He pitched 38, it’s not hard to check a box score.

They don't have a choice. He's on a short rest. He'll play Wednesday if they make it that far.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Anderson either start or in relief should we play Thursday

It’s DVH. If Arky is losing tomorrow and he thinks he needs Root to pitch to come back and win, he will use him.

But he wont start. And will likely just start on Wednesday so he can use him during the championship if they made it.

We don't really need him for relief. I think DVH would hold out for a start.

I think he would blow him if he had absolutely no choice in a close game if the bullpen melts. About the only way he comes in tomorrow.

DVH does not give a frick about his players.

Kevin Kopps pitch counts at the end of 2021

5/27 30 pitches
5/30 39 pitches
6/4 24 pitches
6/5 71 pitches
6/7 90 pitches
6/12 21 pitches
6/13 118 pitches (Starting pitcher on no rest)

Tomorrow, Root will have had two days rest after 38 pitches. That’s like a week in DVH’s mind. Kopps pitched 71, rested ONE day then threw 90 pitches. That poor kid threw 3 weeks worth of pitches in 9 days.

Our bullpen is very deep. Not a bunch of superstars but very consistently solid. I don't think there is a chance Root does relief work tomorrow.

We have good guys that are used to coming out of the bullpen. I don't think DVH tries that tomorrow considering the depth, and the fact Root hasn't had to come out in the middle of the game all year.

Noot pitches for LSU. Root pitches for Ark

Kopps was also 24 years old and already had TJ. DVH has actually been on the lower end of starter pitch counts over the last few years. Even Hagen never got stretched out for 100+ very often.
