They didn’t roll with their number 1, friday night guy.

Coach must have full confidence in that staff.

They will likely be in the final 3 game series, and our opponent when we get there

If they're not playing LSU it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they won it all.

My bad. I guess I shouldn’t just assume they will be in the finals.

Doubtful. I haven't been able to watch this weekend but no one does that. And if you think that was a good idea you're a dumbass. That would mean they just cut themselves 2 days of rest for their ace. You want your ace to pitch as much as possible in omaha

You assumed they pitched off. They didn’t.

The broadcaster guy did say it was their Sunday starter. But maybe he’s mistaken. elephino

They stacked Friday/Saturday in the first game and then threw Sunday today.

So they don’t need to hit the ball in their next two games

Talking about their stacking strategy in game one would’ve been a fun topic starter though.

Interesting strategy if they had done that. But being in that bracket does afford you the opportunity to bring both the guys from your first two games back for the Championship Series on full rest (or more). Whoever we pitch tomorrow (Eyanson) will be available to clinch the title in Game 2 of the Championship Series, but will be on 5 days rest.

The OP is right. Jacob Morrison is their best starting pitcher.

A few coastal fans we talked to this weekend in Omaha said that they’ve been starting him Game 2 for the entirety of the post season.

They absolutely piggy backed their 2/3 guys in game 1 of the CWS. Morrison is their ace and has been their Friday guy (or first starter) most of the year.

He was pushed back to Saturday for their conference tournament and has stayed on that schedule for the postseason but he is clearly their 1.

OP is correct. Replies to OP are wrong

On game 1, while starter is on the mound, Ben McDonald said “usually their #3 starter”.

Costal wanted to use him for a small number of pitches, and if they had the lead, they would bring in their Friday night guy to pitch the rest of game. It worked.

Their undefeated Ace has pitched on Saturdays all year. At beginning of season, ace was expected to be the #2 but surpassed all expectations.

Costal used their 3 best to get into finals of their side of bracket.
