Sam is done USGA just screwed him in the fairway and about to go 2 down

Horrible ruling in fairway with no relief from water.
To all the " Sam played the same course" Same shot 80".
Sam was tied for the lead and got a horrible ruling. Doubled the hole and he was cooked. Sorry it's hard enough to play that course. But to be on 15 tied for the lead. That had a lot to do with him finishing up the way he did. He might not have won with a good ruling but he would have been coming up 18 with a chance.

Tournament being determined by an official is sad.

He was in the lead at the time and finished the hole with a double. It absolutely affected him the next 2 holes.

I thought It was interesting that NBC did all those close ups of bad lies but nothing with that one. I didn't think much of it at first but got curious when he asked for a second official.

There’s no reason someone who hit the fairway shouldn’t get relief from that.
It’s not as if he was in the first cut and trying to move it into the fairway. He did his job and should have been granted relief for casual water.
I think JJ still wins, but that def impacted the tournament.
