Super impressed by Milam on that play. Scoops up the grounder on the short hop while on the run and makes a perfect throw to first base all in one motion.

That was a difficult pick. Milam has played a fantastic shortstop this season

I honestly don't remember a more accurate thrower from that position.

He made that play look easy, but it was a very difficult play.

Best infield at LSU since______?

It might be the best.

Those double plays were huge.

Defense can’t be overlooked and was a big key in winning the game.

Mainieri routinely had great defensive infields. This is the first time Johnson has had one like this. Crazy that is was kind of just pieced together

Strongly disagree. Bregman was a walking web gem.

His hands are so smooth and fast. It takes him zero time to go from glove to throw

There is tremendous value in catching everything like Milam does.

But any SS you think about that would maybe compete with him for best SS, (Bregman, Kramer, Nola) have had better range

more total chances = more range = more difficult plays = more errors.

didn't save the numbers but Bregman by far got to the most balls of any SS i looked at.

While i get that argument, i think bregman got more chances because of the wet noodle bats back then, in addition to the increased persuasion of launch angle over time. I dont think milam’s range is limited at all compared to the others. I can hear the argument for nola

All the downvotes and I’d love for someone to post a defensive SS with a better fielding percentage in LSU history.

Ask Louisville, they booted a routine ground ball that should have been a double play.

Milam and Bras make it look easy, its not.

Milam does not make many plays to his arm-side.

He is great at a lot of things though. Going to his left, charging balls. His hands and throw accuracy rival any SS ive seen at LSU.
