Company has 6 positions
Entry level- $46.7
Outside- $48.1
Inside/outside- $49.4
Inside- $51.5
Senior- $51.8
Vacation- $52.5
This is South Louisiana just seeing what the going rate is around the area.

I’d go for the vacation role.

I’m glad I have no idea what all that means.

You including insurance baw?
Im almost done being trained for an electrician at a corn plant in Nebraska I'll be getting 42.60/hr plus benefits. Vacation rate is determined by how much you make the prior year.
I could probably get way more if I lived elsewhere but I like where I live. My house is about paid off and I dont want to live down on the Gulf where id sweat my arse off year round.

Guy who covers every positions vacation, he's top pay, Knows the most jobs in theory
Posted on 6/15/25 at 11:57 am to H2A2
They would absolutely be paying more than 70 cents per hour more than the senior guy.

55.50 top out, think starting is around 40ish

Senior and Vacation guy are very similar roles, senior guy works straight days and covers some OT on weekends, if a guy calls in during hell week

I see these lab jobs in the plant paying pretty good. I probably should apply but I like what I do. From what I understand the job is boring, just having the proper skill set on site is apparently really valuable in a plant.

Lab makes the sames as operations in my plant. To its comparable job

I figured pay was a lot higher seeing so many Baws with $80k truck nuts around here. Must be a lot of OT or debt.

If they work just 500hrs of overtime on $57/hr, that turns their $118k salary into $160k/yr

One or two turnarounds per year will easily get them there.
Some companies do double time after 7 days.
There's built in overtime on each two week period if they're rotating 2-2-3 and work 36 hrs one week then 48 the next.
Call outs are automatically 4 hrs even if it takes them 2 seconds to fix it.
Not too shabby for a high school education or tech school.
