SPRINGFIELD — Millions of Haitians and other nationalities may be forced to leave the United States after one federal agency revokes their temporary status.

People at the Haitian Support Center in Springfield are worried, confused, and scared. Not knowing what it all means or how long they can call the city of Springfield home.

Viles Dorsainvil is the Executive Director at the Haitian Support Center and said, “It’s chaotic. It’s confusing because at some point in time it’s like a catch-22.”

Around 15,000 Haitians live and work in Springfield, legally. Now, the Department of Homeland Security is emailing termination notices notifying hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans that their temporary permission to live and work in the United States has been revoked and they should leave the country.

“You came here just to work and have a life, and all of a sudden you find yourself in all of this chaos, which was not their or our expectation,” Dorsainvil said.

While he’s not aware of any notices sent to Haitians living in Springfield, he said there is confusion.

“I got a call from employers yesterday asking me which decision they should take about them. If they have to keep them or let them go,” Dorsainvil said.

News Center 7 caught up with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, who said Ohio businesses are worried about their bottom line.

“These Haitians are contributing to society. They’re allowing us to produce things, and without them, these companies are going to have a very difficult time doing what they need to do,” DeWine said.

For the time being, the Haitian Support Center is working to provide understanding to Haitians and legal help.

“So, our role is to work with them through this process,” Dorsainvil said.

Haitians with a more permanent status and Green Cards are also worried, wondering if their status will come into question. But they are also scared that families will be split up.

They are seeking more clarification in the coming days.

The Haitians who were brought here during the Biden regime were sold a bill of goods. I wouldn't want to return to that crime ridden, accursed shithole run by Bar Be Que either.

The news quotes this Viles Dorsainvil person and Gov Mike DeWine.

Is anyone asking the original citizens of Springfield how they feel about their population jumping from 60K to 75K in such a short period of time? Or are their voices unimportant?

Guess the denizens of Springfield are expected to bend over and shut up and accept whatever the Biden administration wanted to shove into them.

Dorsainvil sounds like an entitled demanding jackass.

Trash judges, trash lawyers, and the trash previous administration caused this by granting asylum simply because you don't like your current shithole country.

Blame them.

I saw a quote from the clown who runs the illegal immigration center and the governor who wants cheap labor to undermine his constituents.

You guys do realize their "temporary protection status" of 18 months started in 2010 and has been rolled over for every time

We have Hondurans from 1999 and El Salvadorians from 2001.

There are 17 countries with Temporary status.

This latest judgement only covers the Haitians, Venezuelans, Cubans and I think Nicaraguans.

These folks literally have anchor grandbabies by now.

What an absolute mess our immigration is.

Back to the haitians, they got refugee status which means......money and benes from the get go. Its over they need to go home. Their country is a shathole and will always be a shathole.

Haiti was the first experiment. Then Rhodesia, and now South Africa.

Actual DHS Press Release DJT team taking care of business.

DHS Issues Notices of Termination for the CHNV Parole Program, Encourages Parolees to Self-Deport Immediately

Release Date: June 12, 2025 This program was abused by the previous administration to admit hundreds of thousands of poorly vetted illegal aliens into the United States

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began sending termination notices to aliens paroled into the United States (U.S.) under a Biden-era parole program for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV).

The messages informed the illegal aliens both their parole is terminated, and their parole-based employment authorization is revoked – effective immediately. These notices will be sent to the email addresses provided by the parolees.

“The Biden Administration lied to America. They allowed more than half a million poorly vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela and their immediate family members to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs; granted them opportunities to compete for American jobs and undercut American workers; forced career civil servants to promote the programs even when fraud was identified; and then blamed Republicans in Congress for the chaos that ensued and the crime that followed,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“Ending the CHNV parole programs, as well as the paroles of those who exploited it, will be a necessary return to common-sense policies, a return to public safety, and a return to America First.” Starting in 2022, the Biden administration released over 500,000 poorly vetted aliens into the U.S. under the CHNV parole program.

President Trump canceled this program, and the Supreme Court upheld this cancellation on May 30, 2025. DHS is now notifying parole recipients if they have not obtained lawful status to remain in the U.S., they must leave immediately.

DHS encourages any illegal alien residing in the U.S. to self-deport with the CBP Home Mobile App. If they do so, they will receive travel assistance and a $1,000 exit bonus upon arrival in their home country

Actually, it is people who believe such as yourself who are to blame.

Status was temporary. You refuse to see that word. You then spread lies. Those lies are believed as fact. That is when the confusion starts.

Stop causing confusion.
