He wasn’t even on his game today (Horton pitched better) and shut down one the top offenses in MLB. Cubs had him on the ropes but couldn’t get shite done with RISP. Bouncing him after 5 because of a high pitch count was a win in my book lol

He’s gonna start setting records for best stats with the least amount of wins.

Unfortunately the Pirates aren’t trading him anytime soon. He is under contract until 2029. He will hit pre arbitration next year and probably get 22-24 million per year for 2 years. If he stays healthy he will reset the market.

are you serious with that shite about Horton?
Horton faced 18 in 5 - 19 when he gave up the single in the top of the 6th if you look at batters faced per out.
Skenes faced 20 in 5.
The team Skenes faced has the 4th best BA in the MLB. Horton faced the 27th ranked team.

Skenes gave up 4 hits; 0 runs; 2 walks and 5 Ks. He was not “on the rope”. They just worked his pitch count which is good for them.
His last 6 starts
36 1/3
20 hits
3 earned runs (4 total)
44 Ks
7 bbs
.75 ERA (if I did my math correct)

You think a pitcher pitched better because he faced more batters in less innings? You wanna think about that? Lol
IDK what to tell you. If you watched the game it was unquestionable that Horton was a little bit sharper. It doesn’t mean Skenes isn’t waaaaaaaaaaay better than Horton. It just means Horton was really good today and Skenes wasn’t fricking Superman (and still went 5 scoreless). It’ll be ok little buddy
