So you're playing a lefty who is also a liability in the field in a game where one mistake could be difference? Got it!

We actually had a similar lineup against a tough lefty the other day and it worked well. Curiel has struggled a lot against good lefties, and Josh, who likes to crowd the plate, could easily start the game with a hbp…kinda like Beloso did against Caglione when he led off against UF

I could see it, but would swap Dickinson and Hernandez.

I guess it’s better to have an auto out in the lineup than a guy who could potentially kill us in the field. Idk kinda sounds like a lose lose situation.

I think there’s an argument that Root is so good that the difference you get in the potential for Reaves hitting isn’t good enough to justify taking Braswell out of the defensive lineup

If Root was RHP I would agree.

Glad you're not a coach, you're too emotional. The other guy hasn't done anything worth starting over one of your best defensive guys. Go to the restroom when Braswell comes up to bat.

Honestly I think this will be a defensive game. Braswell has the better defense and should be the choice, especially as he is one of our best bunters.

Agree. Braswell needs to be in the lineup for his defense, will just have to hope he can at least get on base in his ABs.

Braswell sits the bench until we need a pinch hit (bunt), then he plays defense in the later innings. He is much more a liability with the bat (pop up King) than another player being a liability at 3rd.

Tanner Reaves hasn’t had a hit since April

and he has had some loud outs for sure, but he is like 1 for 23 with 6 walks since the Miss State series.

That's getting on base 7 more times than Brasswell

it what context?
overall?
Since the Miss State Series?

neither of them have been good at the place recently.

braswell has been slightly better slightly more recently

I do think Reeves is one of the most snake hit hitters on the team. Him and Milam have so many hard hit outs it’s not even funny.

I was against playing Reaves for weeks, but this is on Braswell. He’s not just in a slump, but he’s been taking stupid ABs and keeps resorting to that stupid arse golf swing. He’s worse now than he’s been at any point this season. He’s killed too many scoring opportunities this season to be trusted anymore.

On the other hand. Reaves has played a good bit lately and even started and hasn’t had an error or missed a throw. I think you start him and bring in Braswell for defense late in games where you have a lead.

Insert at TD Schwab, mecca for loud outs.

Wonder if we will see that lineup in which Curiel batted 7th. I prefer the one you set out, Dickinson is in a rut.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Braswell has never looked worse at the plate than he did in the regional and super. He was benched for a reason.
