Reading The Advocate this morning and see an editorial that says Letlow is rumored to be in the running for President of LSU.

John Fleming said a month ago that Landry was pushing for Letlow to run for Cassidy’s Senate seat, only to give it up in exchange for a comfy higher ed job in her first term and that Landry would appoint himself to that Senate seat.

This seems to thwart that plan. What thinks the PT?

I trust anon sauces about like I do rabid pitbulls: I don't.

Landry is living large as the Governor, he's not going to step down to appoint himself Senator.

Her husband passing may have been the best thing to ever happen to her.

Senators don't get to drag a Tiger carcass around Death Valley on Saturday night for the Bama game... Governors do.

I didn't know she has a PhD in Communications or that she was a finalist for the Presidency of ULM in 2020.

I don't think LSU has ever had MILF President before...

This idea is so stupid that it would only happen in LA, btw.

I think he definitely has his eyes on DC though.

I wouldn't doubt it. If this scenario had come up at the end of his term-limit, I think he would probably jump on it. As it is right now though, I think he stays in the mansion until he either limits out or loses a re-election.

Ehh…Landry as a rabble rouser in the U.S. Senate, in that hell’s den of thieves with no hope of reform…I don’t really mind. Much better than him being Huey P Landry on the 4th Floor of the Louisiana Capitol. At least for Louisiana.

If former lizard-man Governor Jon Bel Edwards wants his old job back, Landry may not want the bloody campaign for governor to keep his job.

Very much agreed. The further away from Louisiana the better.

Although I think his current performance will hinder any future campaigns. He certainly won’t get out of debating again.

She was rumored to be the frontrunner and the well-loved outgoing President's pick but the ULM alum Dr. Berry pulled the upset. All the insiders had it wrong.

Am I mistaken or did Huey P. do this?

Mistaken. He ran for Senate as sitting governor and won.

As well he should have. I don't have anything against Julia, but Dr. Berry has put the time and effort into ULM both in teaching and administration (and he survived the Swearengen years).
