KG BBQ In Austin

I'll be visiting Austin soon and have been meaning to try this place out
Long story short it's a guy from Cairo, Egypt that fell in love with TX BBQ and he brings some Egyptian themes into the BBQ place. He doesn't use any Egyptian spices on the brisket but it looks like he does with things like lamb and koftas.
Has anyone been? It looks interesting and could be a good change of pace for summer weather

It’s a truck…so enjoy your BBQ in 100 degree heat if that’s what you mean by a change of pace for the summer.

I don't mind eating outside even when it's hot
They do seem to have some more refreshing sides for a BBQ joint
But maybe I'll wait to hit this one until the winter time

He was at Urban South this spring with Gonzo's and a few other BBQ places, their stuff was awesome! I haven't been to his place in Austin but the food they had at the pop up was great.

It's good. This place also has much better sides than most bbq places.

sides
The reason my wife never complains about going to Truth when we're in Houston, despite not being a fan of smoked meats.

I've been earlier this year and it's really good.
Pomegranate Glazed Pork Ribs
Lamb Bacon Ribs
Grilled Chicken Kebab
Brisket Rice Bowl
Pink Buttermilk Potato Salad
Oddwood Brewing is next door. Order a beer from Oddwood while you wait in line. Even though Oddwood sells food, they do have a partnership with KG. You can bring your KG BBQ inside Oddwood and eat/drink inside if you don't like the vibe outside. Parking lot can get crowded.

It's worth going. A mix of new and classic. Sides are really good.
Don't skip on the pulled lamb shoulder.
