A landmark film in the history of cinema that practically invented the idea of the summer blockbuster movie experience. It was the first motion picture to ever cross the $100 million mark at the domestic box office and launched the career of director Steven Spielberg into the stratosphere.
A commercial and critical hit, Jaws was the #1 movie at the box office that year and went on to be nominated for 4 Academy Awards (including Best Picture). John Williams would win the Oscar for Best Original Score for his iconic soundtrack.
I will always love the line from the original teaser trailer: "...it is as if God created the Devil and gave him....jaws..."

I watched Jaws, Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws:The Revenge last week.
3D being my favorite.

Williams should be given even more credit than he got. The greatest “score” of all time

What a movie. I was probably about 8 or 9 the first time I saw it. I watched it at our camp at Cypremort point. We would always swim off the pier. That summer when ever i jumped in I would swim as fast as i could to that ladder. you know just in case a giant great white was watching me. I even did that in pools for a while as well.

Wanna see a hilarious bad movie? Check out Cruel Jaws (1995) it’s an Italian Jaws ripoff starring a Hulk Hogan look a like. Seriously if you are into funny bad movies, this one is right up there with the best of the worst.

First part is kinda slow with the mayor and all.. but the moment Quinn shows up and they get to the boat.. it’s about as elite a movie as there is.

Will be seeing it in a theater this summer!

Perfect movie, and in my top 3 anytime watches.
Can we just acknowledge that moment at 2:11 when the orchestra picks up and Quint is all "Gotta get to work." Everyone responding exactly how they would. The blocking leading the cinematography into moments with each character. The urgency in William's score.

It also predates the invention of the PG-13 rating.
It’s rated PG and definitely has full frontal bush in it.

With the blood, gore, and nudity it would definitely garner an R-rating in 2025.

I watched 3 of them this weekend.. Should have never made 3.. It was terrible to the point of laughable..
My dad took me to see the original in the theater.. I still laugh when the head came out of the sunken boat's hole and my dad jumped and I laughed out loud in theater...

Unpopular opinion, but I actually like the first half of the film better than the second half in the boat.

GOAT movie.
Not a scene wasted.
It never gets old.
