PRICE — A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday in Price and accused of holding multiple people hostage and threatening to kill them over claims they slept with his wife.

Rogelio Bustillos is accused of forcing his way into a Price residence two separate times and pointing a handgun at several victims. Police say he held the victims against their will at the residence while demanding they disclose information about his wife.

One man said he was sleeping in his bedroom Thursday night when he was woken up by Bustillos shaking him and pointing a gun, a police booking affidavit says.

"Rogelio began demanding to know if the victim was sleeping with his wife," the affidavit states. "The victim told Rogelio he had nothing to do with his wife and was not sleeping with her. The victim told Rogelio he did not work with Rogelio's wife. Rogelio seemed to accept this answer and left the residence at that time."

Early Friday, however, Bustillos again forced his way into the same residence, police said, but the first man was not there. Bustillos is accused of waking up another man and walking him at gunpoint to the living room.

"While doing so, they walk past another door where a third victim was sleeping in. Rogelio then kicks this door open, destroying the door," the affidavit states.

Bustillos then allegedly forced the two individuals into a bedroom and, while pointing the gun at them, asked where his wife was and accused them both of sleeping with her. Another person heard the commotion and walked toward the bedroom and was forced to sit with the other two, police said.

"Rogelio repeats his demands to know why the three victims were sleeping with his wife and where she was. During this, Rogelio places the gun against the victims' heads. Rogelio tells the victims if they do not give him the information he wants, he would kill them," the affidavit states.

The victims told police they were held prisoner by Bustillos for about two hours. Bustillos received a phone call, during which the victims say they overheard the other party telling him to leave them alone and go home, police said.

They told police Bustillos then told them to turn off their cellphones and ride bikes to Los Dos Amigos, a restaurant in Price where they all worked.

Rogelio told the victims that if they called anyone for help on the way to the restaurant, he would kill them. Rogelio also told the victims if he saw police come anywhere near them, he would kill them and get into a shootout with the cops," the affidavit states.

Bustillos allegedly followed the victims to the restaurant and then fled toward Wellington, Carbon County.

Police searched Carbon and Emery counties for hours Friday before locating Bustillos' vehicle between Helper and Price. Bustillos was armed with "multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition" when he was arrested at 6:30 p.m., Price police said on social media.

While he was being taken into custody, Bustillos allegedly told police, "I was going to turn myself in" and "I know I did it. I was waiting for you guys to come find me."

Police located a handgun and a long-range hunting rifle in Bustillos' car, along with 16 grams of cocaine, according to the affidavit. Additional cocaine was located on Bustillos' person while he was being booked into jail, police said.

Bustillos was booked into the Carbon County jail for investigation of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, aggravated commercial obstruction, interruption of communication devices, possession of controlled substances and dangerous conduct with a weapon.
