Space X is a private company. US govt uses space X because it is infinitely cheaper than NASA.

I think this breakup may be contrived to help Tesla stock and to help liberals lay off of Elon. If they know he’s turning on Trump, Elon will be back in their good graces.

I dont doubt this could be strategic on Elon's part but liberals disdain for him goes back much further than his support of Trump. That just threw gasoline on the already burning fire.
