I own a nice mobile home in Zachary, LA. The long PVC drain pipe under the mobile home hangs from the frame via plastic straps. Four of the straps broke so a section of the PVC pipe is sitting on the concrete slab. I am not having any plumbing issues but I know that the PVC pipe is supposed to slope 1/8” to 1/4” per foot. I need a plumber.

It's a fricking piece of PVC pipe that has broken straps causing it to sag. Get some material for strapping and rehang it with the proper 1/4 inch per foot fall.

It's not rocket science. Why pay a plumber $100 or more an hour to do something as easy as that?????

on the one hand, don’t be a dick. The OP is a female asking for help on something she doesn’t know anything about.

on the other hand, she likely has access to a phone book

I look at the posts, not the names attached to them. And I still say it's about as easy a fix as you can get when it comes to plumbing. It's just sagging PVC, not broken underground sewer lines.

I would say she likely doesn't

last one I saw was 5 years ago and was thin as People magazine.

You're probably fine OP. As long as its going downhill it will work.

The straps are referred to as pipe hangers. Big plumbing houses should have them in stock. You may have to tell them how far below the structure the pipe is hanging. Let your fingers do the walking before driving all over town.

Then go look to see how the others are hanging/installed. It really is easy to do. You may need another set of hands to help chock the pipe into place before installing the hangers.

Sorry, do not know any plumbers in your area, but don’t want you to waste any money. Good luck.

Do a swap with one of the baws around town. An hours time from each and your set. Shite, it might only take him 10 minutes both times

This is sexual harassment if “swap” means what I believe that you are implying. Would you like to apologize?

When I saw this post, the first thing I thought was "It's likely to get a downvote long before an apology".

Looks like I was right------------and it wasn't me who downvoted, just to clear that up.

There are some really good plumbers in baton rouge. But one of the problems I've had with the good ones is that they either can't get to me for a week because they're booked up or they don't have the equipment to do heavier duty jobs such as cleaning drain pipe and such. I have had very good luck and received very fair prices over the last few years with Roto-Rooter.
