Thought about making the trip for New Year to see how it could go, but that price is ridiculous for these seats. I know the weather is generally below 80 degrees that time of year in Miami, but even with the roof closed, I can't imagine that ice last long and making a quality game out of it.

The technology on this has improved significantly.
As long as it's played at night, it'll be fine.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the winter classic? People watching on TV may have no idea the game is even being played in a different venue when the weather will be similar to room temperature. I always think it looks cool when the players are warming up with beanies on.

Hottest outdoor game was like a decade ago in Denver (65 degrees). They could make the roof work, but that defeats the entire fricking purpose of being outside
Ice aside, I can’t imagine how hellacious the notion is to a player in pads in close to 80 degrees in that humidity. I’d want to die

They did in LA, so they can get it to work.
Is it stupid, yes. Florida vs rangers. At Yankee stadium on new Year's Day, that would work

That would be way better.

The sight-lines for football are god awful when it's played in a baseball stadium. I can't imagine how shite the in person viewing experience is for hockey on a diamond.

Good. One less pasty, sweaty snowbird to encounter.

I live in Ft lauderdale. Not sure if I want to spend 200 on a hockey game. I doubt Id pay 50. I do love the winter classic but not at that price.
