By sending a message you may be deported while showing up to your check in it induces fears of illegals not showing up.
If the illegals don’t show up to their mandatory court hearing they get an automatic deportation notice.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
So by following the law and checking in, you get arrested? Shouldn't this be reserved for people who are blatantly subverting the law? Now thousands/millions won't follow the law out of fear.

The people they are arresting are most likely people who were already had previous criminal offenses that marked them for deportation but weren’t already carried out.

Many have probably overstayed their visa, knowingly, and received notice. Aw shucks ya caught me, let me go down and straighten it out......whoopsie daisy. But my uncle Carlos has been extending it for years.....uh maam do you have your uncle's address?

You're missing the biggest point...its telling the judges that they are on watch and they are directly responsible to alert ICE when illegals are in court. Or else, their arse is responsible and held accountable
