Jones and Braswell combined in last 6 games.
Jones 3 for 27
1 walk
2 RBI
Braswell 1 for 18
1 RBI
But all that doesn’t matter now. 1 game to keep playing.

Only one walk between them in 45 plate appearances tells you all you need to know about these 2

As bad as those states are, it's still worse to me that they continue walking people to get to Jones

lol they were two of our top 3 hitters last year too. What a shite show

Braswell is a pet player of Jay's. Some coaches have pet players who shouldn't play but for that reason.
Braswell's defense is good but we probably have other guys who could play some decent third base but hit much better.

Bench them both! Start Pearson and Larson

We don’t pitch to ground ball contact to even worry about the one ball hit to 3rd a game

i am no coach and i don’t get paid to make these decisions, so i am just asking a question…. i understand that jones needs to be in the lineup, but the way it is going, why at 2 spot now? why not 6th or 7th?…. And…
why is Braswell in the lineup at all? Batting .215 or below now, for the year? Is his defense that much better than Reaves or anyone else?
Serious inquiries….

Sliding him down could completely destroy was confidence he has left, but it could also light a spark. It’s time to do it because Jones is killing potential crooked innings, and they’re walking guys to get to him.

Yes, his defense is that much better than the rest of them.

How would this work?

Sliding Jones down can only help at this point. He can’t do worse and moving him puts a better bat higher in the order.

thanks for the serious reply. not gonna change my mind on jones being out of the 2 hole…. and really you didn’t try to!…
but didn’t really know about the opinion on braswell and defense at 3b…. i still say it can’t be that much of a difference to keep a .215 hitter in the lineup. again i am no coach. just my opinion.

Braswell is an extra short stop in LSU's infield. You're not getting balls past Milam/Braswell/Dick. Plus, I know Braswell struggles but he does do a lot of little things very well and he just gets really unlucky on some of his swings as well. He has been bad lately though.
I can't tell you on Jones. I've been saying for weeks he needs to drop down the lineup. Every now and then he'll send a solo HR out but right now he sees absolutely nothing so he should be going down the lineup. First pitch fastball down the piper, rest of pitches off speed out of zone. Jones never walks. All or nothing. Swings at trash. He and Braswell are hurting the team badly.

Reeves isn’t a good defensive 3rd baseman and he’s not the best hitter in the world, either. He couldn’t be counted on vs SEC teams. If you watched when he got in and threw to first today, it’s a damn rainbow with 0 juice. Braswell has a gun and gets outs reliably. We are a top 10 fielding defense and he’s a big part of that.
But this isn’t an SEC team, so maybe Reeves gets a shot tomorrow. We saw Jay make that move today.

thanks to you also for the serious reply. i am just wondering. and i really don’t know either. the only one that matters is jay and i still trust him, and geaux tigers.

That’s terrible for any position… but for your 1B and 3B that is unimaginably bad

I don't usually give too much of a shite about batting order, but Jones MUST be moved from the 2-hole tomorrow.

No problem. Most idiots here just want to melt or troll after a loss, especially if that lines up with an agenda they like to push. But a few of us do like to actually discuss the game like normal human beings, even if it sucked.

At least move Jones back in the lineup or bunt him for now
