On3 - College Football Hall of Fame Lowers Win % Qualification
According to a press release from the National Football Foundation, the College Football Hall of Fame will lower its win percentage requirement for entry from 60% to 59.5% in 2027.
It is being lowered so that Mike Leach can get into the Hall of Fame, but the lowered requirement now makes Les Miles eligible again.
Does Les Miles now get in the Hall of Fame?
The 37 vacated wins dropped Miles' overall record from 145-73, a winning percentage of .665, to 108-73, a winning percentage of .597. Coaches must have a career winning percentage of .600 in at least 100 games to qualify for selection to the College Football Hall of Fame. Miles, 70, helped LSU to a national championship in 2007 and won two SEC titles at the school. He also led programs at Oklahoma State and Kansas.

Mike Leach deserves it more than Les
Time will tell how badly Les damaged his reputation, but almost every National Championship winning coach has made the HOF.

Shouldn’t they vacate Miles’ losses too? I mean if Vadal was ineligible in a win, he was also ineligible in the losses.

Hate him all you want, but he won here maybe not like Satan, but better than Farmer Fran

100 winds, 1 NC
played for 2.
I mean how many coaches can say they’ve done more?

Those clock management blunders (Ole Miss 2009) are really biting him in the arse.

No necessarily disagreeing with you but why do you say this?

Still pissed that Herbstreit opened his big mouth ahead of him leaving for Michigan. I was so happy when he finally got canned.

Another Les Miles 4th quarter comeback

I think his impact on the game & legacy with the air raid offense is bigger than Les’s 1 championship and nothing really negative about Leach other than crybaby Craig James

The coed comments about recruit hosts will bite him much harder with HOF selection.

Miles will get into the HoF and at some point the wins will be reinstated.
