This old song just hit my brain out of the blue. Haven't heard it in years.

Crazy how that happens. It's a cool old song though.

That's even more crazy. I never looked at that thread.
Edit to add: If that's the genre thread, I did read some and posted in it, then didn't read anymore.
That was in the thread about covers. I don't think I even clicked on that thread.

I can see Ole Beaumont getting killed just hearing the opening notes.

The kid that wrote that was a guitar protégé.

Lake Charles' own X-Mob sampled this song in probably their biggest hit. Honestly, that whole X-Mob album should have been much bigger than it was. Very good if you like that genre. UGK's Pimp C makes an appearance on this song, and produced the album.

Ah the mid 70s. Hadn't heard this one in a long time. Made me think of "Kung Fu Fighting"

One of my favorite songs ever. I was always intrigued that the song is Strawberry Letter 23, but they only mention Strawberry Letter 22 in the song.

I did a little digging and apparently this song is about two separated lovers that are sending love letters to each other. She sends the 22nd Strawberry scented letter and his response to her last letter is a song, Strawberry Letter 23.

Love the bass. What a great song.
