What could have been?

Do you think he would have shifted the franchise in a better direction, if not for his unfortunate situation?

It's a shame what happened, but are you under the impression he would've been anything more than a role player?

I loved BDJ

and his death was VERY tragic - but enough time has passed we can examine the situation

Dude was yelling and kicked down a door he thought was his girlfriend's apartment in the middle of the night - but it was the wrong place. That is all i know as fact, unless anyone has more context?

How do you explain this without examining character issues or substance abuse? Is it an accident, or did BDJ just live a high risk life? Kicking down doors in Texas is suicidal behavior.

What could have been? was more likely another tragic situation, rather than a "shifting the franchise" scenario.

He entered the wrong apartment building on the floor below his girlfriend's apartment yelling obscenities and the person inside shot him in self defense at 3am.

Do I think an undrafted GLeaguer who jumped around to 3 different colleges before it was popular and averaged 10ppg could have shifted this franchise?
Dude played in like 15 games at the end of a shitty season averaging 5ppg.

Didn't know NBA worked like albums from dead musicians.

Questionable whether the guy was above replacement value, but he gets killed and we are wondering whether he was a franchise shifter or not.

What's weird about it? I'm simply asking if a role player in a position of need could have changed any foundations to the franchise. You see it happen all the time with other organizations where players come from nowhere.

Bryce was playing quite well before his season ended.

Well at least Zion has not kicked down his girlfriends doors yet.

any foundations to the franchise
What exactly does this mean? An undrafted dude who played like a dozen games with mediocre at best stats was going to alter the franchise's history or something?
