Thanks in advance guys. I don't mind spending, but i'd like to keep it in the $150 range for this hallmark holiday.

19 days out? Hardly. I didn't ask if you thought I would be able to get a reservation. Humor me with some places anyway.

Please do not interpret the general lack of responses to this question as apathy. We've only done nothing but warn people to stay away from restaurants on Valentine's Day at all costs! Do a search and you will see this admonition repeated over and over. For the sake of your relationship, please find something else to do or go out on another day.

Trust me I hate it more than anything in the world, but to the fiancee' it is one of her favorite. It'll be right after her first block of tests for the semester and we're up for a date anyway. So I have alternate, legitimate reasons for going as well.

You'll have a hard time getting in, but Dickie Brennan's or Palace Cafe are personal favorites of mine. Perhaps your girl would settle for the night before or after V-day?

It's possible. Hell I might just fire up the ole grill and cook some filets. Light some candles and go from there. Fock Hallmark!!!

Do you have any places you normally like to go, and which you visit more than once or twice a year?

If so, look into going to any one of those places (personally, if these are a range of places, I'd not necessarily look at the nicest or most expensvie of those -- days like this are a good time to pick out the "stealth" restaurants).

If you don't have any such establishments, fix her dinner at home.

I agree with the secret restaurant type place.

Jamillia's for instance is interesting and will have belly dancing there. It would make for a different and interesting experience...or some place similar...

I have been slammed to day...I want to do the review justice.

It was a 10 out of 10 to save the suspense...but I will do it justice when I get a chance.

Maybe try Lola's. Great food in a quaint atmosphere. Bring your own bottle of wine or get the Sangria. Not sure if they offer reservations, most likely not so GET THERE EARLY!!!

If you do decide to eat out, avoid restaurants that are expensive, Italian, or romantic. Try ethnic restaurants or a favorite hole in the wall. Save the nice dinner for another night.
