D1 baseball nerdcast live where they project the full field after the NCAA lists the 16 hosts in no order.

Does that mean they are matched up?

Even though they have us at 7 we were a lock for a top 8 seed according to them.

Per D1:

1. Vanderbilt - 16. UCLA
2. Texas - 15. Southern Miss
3. UNC - 14. Tennessee
4. Arkansas - 13. Oregon
5. Georgia - 12. Florida State
6. Auburn - 11. Clemson
7. LSU - 10. Ole Miss
8. Oregon State - 9. Coastal Carolina

It’s just hard to believe the sec will get 6 of the top 8 seeds

I'd much rather Clemson, FSU, or Oregon from a matchup standpoint, but it would be fun to knock Ole Miss out.

I get it but as much as they were trying to talk themselves into Coastal and Oregons State in ahead of LSU, when they started talking about their series wins, it wasn’t even close.

Because LSU’s RPI was sunk by the 6 OOC games they had to rebook last minute.

We should be in the conversation with Arkansas, UGA and Auburn, but the 10 RPI pushes us to the 7/8/9 debate.

I don't think it really matters much at all, but I would bet money that LSU will be higher than a #7 seed.

Are they typically good on their projections?

Hypothetical question. If the committee was looking at something like this
quote:

1. Vanderbilt - 16. UCLA
2. Texas - 15. Southern Miss
3. UNC - 14. Tennessee
4. Arkansas - 13. Oregon
5. Georgia - 12. Florida State
6. Auburn - 11. Clemson
7. LSU - 10. Ole Miss
8. Oregon State - 9. Coastal Carolina

What is more likely they land with the above rankings, then consider flipping coastal & Ole Miss to avoid the SEC matchup. Or would they try to justify dropping Tenn to 16 and hope to catch another rivalry matchup?

That's just a projection but a 7 is matched up with the 10

We should be a 5 seed. Absolutely Zero reason to have Auburn and Georgia ahead of us. RPI difference is relatively marginal and we have better conference record. Would be so dumb if either was ahead of us. Especially considering that they went 1 and done in tournament. Can’t use SEC tourney as reason to throw Vandy and Ole Miss higher but keep us behind those two.

So, they're predicting LSU, DBU, Kansas State, Holy Cross at the BR regional.

We beat DBU and K State this year.

These dumbfricks picked our regional based on who wears purple. I probably wouldn’t place bets on their bracket hitting

I think the committee would prefer an SEC matchup in the Supers so that Omaha isn’t overloaded with SEC representation.

I think LSU might pull Arizona.

Could very well happen. The little storylines that both the basketball and baseball committees manufacture with their pairings are a real thing

It’s for that reason I think we get the 8 seed paired with 9 seed Coastal

Arizona would definitely get sent here over Ole Miss. These little nerds never catch those things.

Aaron Fitt is too busy constantly trying to talk LSU down in seeding every week to the point he makes the other teams resumes sounds worse the longer he goes.

But I’d gladly take the 7 and be behind UGA and Auburn in this set up. I rather not face Ole Miss in a super. Give me Clemson instead. But let Vandy Arky and UGA all be on the other side if we make it to Omaha. I’ll take Texas game 1 as I think we are similar teams offensively and we have the better pitching now. Then give hopefully give us game 2 with another ace vs UNC or Auburn with their #2. Preferrably Auburn. Lol.

Of course all those teams wouldn’t make it there but it’s what I have as the mostly likely outcomes to work with for a path.
