This is for reactions to Ballerina. Only positive reactions go first. Negatives at a later time

I get these embargo emails 3-4 times per week. I’ve never once been told directly or indirectly to only share positive thoughts early but hold off on negative thoughts.
There might be unspoken stuff for people trying to get access to
Junkets & premieres. But never 2 embargoes

The BALLERINA embargo notice is absolutely unethical: An embargo hold on negative reactions?! Only positive reactions are okay?!
Certainly hope none of you will be complicit in this buffoonery. If any of you value your dignity (I know, it’s a tough ask), you won’t cave.

So basically what this means is you’ll all only see positive/ glowing reactions at 1pm PT today because this will scare those who fear their access will be compromised dare they not give glowing praise. That’s NOT film criticism! You’re doing yourselves a disservice.

If the studio is so afraid of negative reactions, why not just set the social media AND review embargo to the same late date?
And now what about the folks who genuinely, actually loved/ liked Ballerina? Their positive reactions are rendered moot.

In what is at least a first for me, I just got word of different embargos for "enthusiastic" social media reactions to a movie & another for "critical" reactions. One is over a week before the other.
Also, this movie isn't "bad," but this is where the industry is, I guess.

That just says formal reviews are under an embargo, Formal reviews often contain spoilers, so spoiler free enthusiasm is OK. I don't see anything in this wording saying negative takes are not OK, just formal critical reviews.
Not the most well worded email perhaps, but I don't think it's trying to say what people are seemingly so upset about
ETA: "Critical social sentiment" could be taken as not saying negative things though I suppose. Somewhat ambiguous

This is why every time the nerds on here post the early reaction threads to XYZ comic book or Star Wars movie and its all glowing praise, then the movie actually comes out and it's dogshit

I already thought this was standard. Even further, i figured the big studios would filter out anyone who wouldnt cooperate.

How is this different from a business encouraging people to leave positive feedback on Yelp/Social Media?
Depends on you taking "critical" as meaning disapproving or it meaning to critique something.
