Trump implementing a 25% tariff on IPhones not built in US won't bring those jobs to USA

Here is what will happen.
1. Apple will continue to build overseas because it's still cheaper.
2. Cost of Apple Phones will increase.
3. Apple stock price will drop because tariff will shrink their profit margin.
Trump will be out of office in less time than it would take for Apple to build factories in the USA and get them operational.
They will just pay the tariff and wait for a future administration that will remove tariff's.

SO you would rather have a higher tax on income or a bigger deficit

They will simply automate most of those jobs out of existence.

Not going to read this.
So, is it favorable for Trump or not favorable?
Let me know and I'll down/up vote accordingly.

What an eloquent/intelligent rebuttal.
Stop being a brainless cheerleader.
It's ok to be a Trump guy and also question some of his policies.

The resurrection of the Panicans

Even with a 25% surcharge, it would be cheaper to keep doing what Apple is doing. Tim Cook is probably thinking "YEAH" as he victory pumps. I put up with giving Trump his 25% vig for 3 years maybe, then I get someone who roles back the tariff at which time I just keep the price around where it is with the tariff.....and I pocket the difference because I got a product that people want and an in place efficient distribution network.....and they'll pay it.

Policies impact earnings.
Earnings impact stock prices.
People processing policies & adjusting their investments based on how the policies will impact their investments is a logical reaction.
Is it really that difficult to understand ?
Tariff's matter, just like interest rates matter.

True story, but no objectivity on this board and you will get called all sorts of names... Enjoy the backlash
There are certain products that just don't make sense being built here and this is one. Cost of iphone would likely go up 100% if built here.

If it doesn’t push iPhone manufacturing to the US (which it won’t), then the cost passed down to the consumer would arguably lead the consumer to look for more affordable priced options made in the US.
None of it will pan out this way but I do smile at a bizzaro future in which everyone has a Jitterbug phone and Lawrence C Jitterbug of the Jitterbug dynasty is a mad tycoon that hunts prostitutes for sport.
Edit: this is sort of how Todd Graves became a multi-billionaire. High prices should lead consumers to seek alternatives, but the dumb sheep consumers will just overspend.

Not a leftist.
Not an alter.
Weird how people just name call instead of providing an intelligent rebuttal.

And the name callers never provide a rebuttal to your argument.
Too many people on here treat politics like a football game, mindlessly cheering their team.
You can agree with 99% of Trumps policies, but the 1% you disagree with means that you're a leftist or alter.
Truly cringeworthy Low IQ behavior
