I hate government oversight but one piece of legislation I could get behind is requiring hotel tvs to have a guide button and sleep timer. I’m in a different state, of course I don’t know the damn channel numbers here. I also hate when a TV doesn’t have a sleep timer

I can't go to sleep with the TV on anyway so a timer would be useless for me.

I’m assuming you are an adult. Just be an adult and turn off the TV before going to sleep. shite, or don’t. It’s not like you are paying the electric bill.

I wish some hotel chain would work a deal with Netflix or YouTube TV or something and have it in every room.

It's 2025 and you're brought back to 1997 every time you watch TV in a hotel.

If you’re old enough to get a hotel room, you’re old enough to turn off the tv.

What hotels are y’all staying at? Every complaint in this thread is covered by every Marriott and Hilton that I’ve stayed in over the last 5 years

I actually don’t like it that they have a sleep timer set for default. For some reason I enjoy sleeping with the TV on. Always have to be careful of what’s on because sometimes it can be incorporated into my dreams.

Just buy a fire stick or Google play and take it along. Most of the TVs have hdmi ports. I’ve actually taken my Apple TV on longer term trips.

I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn't have a smart TV. I binged the 1st season of True Detective on a hotel TV in 2014.

Baw, they have internet. You can bring your own laptop or tablet. And most major chains are already doing this on the tv.

There is a cheat code on the thermostat for this if the hotel has it locked to something stupid like 70.

I can't remember when I used a hotel TV. I just use my laptop and my streaming services.

Yea the last two hotels I’ve been in them jackwads have it locked on like 72 or 73. Yea you can turn it down to 66 but you are wasting your time because it won’t kick on. Thank goodness the ceiling fan in our bedroom at our last hotel was a beast lol

Fresh batteries in the remote control would be a nice start

When we first got married my wife, who falls asleep at will, was used to having the TV on while sleeping. I finally was able to transition her to a tablet without the TV on.
