Don't know how she could have not recognized that term. As far as It could tell, the question was straight forward enough. I only saw a brief clip of the exchange, but there was nothing there out of the ordinary.
Strange indeed - I will attribute it to drawing a blank - has happened to me a number of times, but I don't try to wiggle word my way out of it.
Still far from enough to make me change sides on the debate - dems are completely devious and never ever produce a truthful answer - and while 99% of their questions are of the 'gotcha' variety, it was not in this case. The whole topic was probably a gotcha attempt based on exaggerated fiction - but this was a true gaff on Noem's part.

Glad that Senator Hassan pointed out that Lincoln got approval for his suspension of habeas corpus.
Had Noem been up on her history she could have thanked the senator for the Lincoln tidbit and remind Sen. Hassan that it took two years before Congress approved the suspension of Habeas Corpus by Lincoln.

It's a Latin term that most non-lawyers don't know the meaning of. She's not required to know it in her position. She has lawyers for that. I'd be willing to bet that OrangeMoron saw the video, then decided to post it here. He didn't know WTF it meant either. :lol:
