Arronofsky making his version of an early Guy Ritchie film set in 1990s NYC?

If they didn't get Jane's Addiction for their soundtrack somebody fricked up big time.

I'm pretty psyched about this. I really like a lot of Aronofsky's movies and it's got a solid cast. My one slight fear is that it's going to be too quippy and too much like it was made by a kid off their ADD medication. Like I'm a huge fan of Guy Ritchie's first couple of movies and of Layer Cake - but Bullet Train put my teeth on edge.

I'm in. I read the 3 books a long time ago. Patrick Wilson was supposedly trying to get it made like 10 or so years ago.

The book is great. Charlie Huston also has a vampire series that I'm surprised has never been made into a movie.

I like the look of this one and I'm actually starting to turn a corner on Butler.
I'm in.

Umm, this doesn't look like Aronofsky's style at all, so I don't know what he's bringing to the table here.
And then the question is, why is he doing this? So that he will be able to make the movie he really wants to make next? Because he couldn't get it made without agreeing to make a crowd-pleaser type movie first?
