Saw The Final Reckoning (minor poilers)

It's entertaining but nothing to write home about. Definitely not even close to being the best in the franchise. The plot is a bit convoluted and the first hour is... tough and all over the place. I enjoyed Dead Reckoning a lot more.
There are plenty of callbacks to the earlier films, especially the first one. There's also a substantial connection to Jim Phelps.
The mystery of the Rabbit’s Foot is FINALLY unveiled...
I was disappointed with Gabriel’s role in this one. He really only appears briefly at the beginning and in the climax. Given his history with Ethan, I expected much more but all of that was essentially discarded. It seems his character’s primary function was to facilitate a final confrontation with Ethan, disregarding the depth of their relationship. The entire movie is basically Ethan trotting around the globe, racing to find the Podkova before the Entity gains complete control of all the world's nuclear arenals and you forget all about Gabriel until the final act.
I also expected more from The Entity. Ethan really has only one interaction with it. I was hoping for something sinister like it mimicking Isla's voice to toy with Ethan's emotions or something.
And if this was meant to be Ethan Hunt’s sendoff, it was a pretty weak one. The ending was a yuge letdown that lacked the emotional weight and impact one would expect for such a sendoff of a character who's entertained us for 30 years. In fact, if Tom Cruise didn't outright confirm this was the final film, you would have never guessed it based on how it ended.
The dog fight scene made the movie worth watching though and topped the chopper chase in Fallout IMO. It was intense as frick. The Sevastopol scene was fricking cool as well.
That’s all I’ve got.

Nothing made it worth watching. IMF now stands for Impossible Mission Females.

Yea, same here. The title really got me. I got about half way through and realized the mistake I made. Was going to see it in theaters but now I might just wait.
