Better question is whether that place is worth the wait of 5 to 5.5 hour rounds. Unless that has gotten considerably better since the last time I was there.

Maybe I'm just playing at poor old public courses, but this seems to be a real problem in the BR area. No one has any idea how to maintain pace of play and the marshals DGAF.

I thought this board was about golf? I’ve never been and was asking about it.

I wasn’t replying to you, my apologies. Any time Carter gets brought up some yahoo knows a guy that knows a guy that played a 9 hour round. It’s a stupid tigerdroppings myth. I average 4 hours 15 min and I play often

Their Marshals are horrible and don't do anything to increase pace of play

Honestly that sounds awful

When you aren’t reading putts and making club choices like a pro and are driving around in a cart, a 4hr golf round feels like 8 hours

That’s alot of waiting

Dramatic much? It’s 14 minutes per hole.

Do you not try to read your putts and select the correct clubs on holes?

Arguably if you are guessing on putts and clubs, your pace could be slower, bc you aren’t giving yourself a great chance to succeed (resulting in more shots taken).

For the price of a weekend round now, I spend an extra 20 mins in the car and $15 bucks and go to TPC

Carter is a pretty nice course.
The concerns about the time it takes to play a round are extremely valid. The club at times has prioritized $$$ over pace of play with poor group time spacing. I think new management has tried to improve it to an extent but it's still a very very busy course usually.

It’s not just posted here. Check any site with reviews about Carter and the complaints are always the same. Slow.

No problem there. I will never go back. They don’t need me and I sure don’t need them. It was miserable.

You talked about a 4:15 round like that is a good thing. That’s over 14 minutes per hole. And guess how long they separate tee times. Nine minutes apart! They need fewer tee times and to space them out.

Enjoy your rounds. Good layout.

You’re right on this. It should be 12 minutes between tee times.
