Many moons ago Jordan Jefferson got in a fight with some drunk douche in a campus bar. A local sports writer decided to mention that the douche was a marine. Now, the douche wasn't dressed in any kind of marine gear or anything during the fight but that got the story more attention. Way more attention. Same here with the irrelevant Tesla reference.
