Spinnerbaits

Bought a brand new Strike King spinner bait yesterday. It was a smaller size and I don’t remember the exact model. It had flimsy wire that after I would catch a fish, I would have to straighten up.
Five fish into using it this afternoon the wire broke and one is the two blades came off.
Who makes a smaller spinner bait that’s durable these days?

Not sure what you’re calling small, but I think humdinger makes a damn good spinner. I’ve always just bought the sleeve off the rack when I need some. Blue, white and chartreuse has never done me wrong.

Stanley 1/4 oz spinner baits. Been using them for 20 years and they catch fish.

We make a few different kinds. A hidden weight and a smaller frame lightweight bait. Ours are pretty durable.

Just a note about small spinnerbaits.
I use the blue/black with no tail in the smaller rocky rivers of central NC as the go-to. Love them.

Booyah Pond Magic is my go to for smaller spinner baits.

Spinnerbaits, as a general rule, are usually better the smaller the wire diameter. Gives off more vibration and bounces through cover better.
Downside is breaking more often after fewer fish catches.
Tough dilemma…

Hundinger and it's not even a close second.

The classic H&H spinnerbait has never let me down. The double hooks catch everything that thinks about taking a bite.

Delta lure is local to south Louisiana and the owner is a hell of a nice guy.

Forget durability! Sounds like you've already got the right bait

Humdingers have light wire too but I don’t think I’ve had any/many break. If they get bent, you can bend them back very easily. It’s probably just in my mind but I think I catch more fish on them than any other brand. And the price is right.

I miss Bulldog spinnerbaits from back in the day.

Might as well throw in Bomber Mini-Whacker for a recommendation. I tied one up for my daughter this spring that I've had for 30 years. How it wasn't dry rotted I have no idea.

Are you aiming for smallmouth?
