Fellow Atlanta baws, original Taco Mac is closing after 46 years.....

This kind of came out of nowhere . They are an Atlanta institution. Their dry lemon pepper wings are the best in the industry.

Taco Mac never had a true buffalo sauce which always irked me. But it was a mainstay at that spot.
That article mentions Jekyll Brewing closing all locations - I didn't love it but what happens to the huge place in downtown Alpharetta?

Wow, that's sad. Spent many a time at this location in my younger days. Great locality for wings and huge selection of cold draft beer, great for people watching on their outdoor section.

That location has gone to shite over the last year. I have lunch meetings there every so often and on my last trip there I thought my server was a bum trying to get shite from me.
It was awesome during Covid though.

I thought they got bought by another company about 10 years ago. They shrank the menu and the food wasn't as good. I used to go to multiple locations for years and then they all went to shite.

Taco Mac got bought out by PE and then spun off to an individual owner thereafter - it was the latter who killed it (so not a traditional private equity vampire story).
