three nights at the orion. if you've not been there, you need to correct that. its the coolest venue in the south. presale open now on AXS, code is INTHECLEAR

snagged a room in one of the new buildings one block away from the amp. its a very neat area, last year there was a bbq festival at the same time, we caught leftover salmon before billy's show

Weather should be just about perfect for that.
When I was a teenager, that area was mostly cotton fields.
Good place to take your date after a movie.
A couple bottles of Boone's Farm and some Commodores on the Sparkomatic 8 track

Think Billy and the boys will be back on the lake front for New Years?

it’s not been announced obviously and I was told by someone at UNO that the original deal was for three years which has expired. I don’t know whether or not 2025 dates are being held but I do know that adding camping last year didn’t work out all that well either for the venue or the fans.

I sure hope they come back but we will have to see. The violence on NYE last year didn’t help either…

the “camping area” was just one of the gravel lots behind the arena and wasn’t really planned out that well. Plus the weather didn’t help. My friends from out of town who camped were pretty angry about it. It wasn’t well done at all compared to the many other camping shows that billy has done, but I guess that shouldn’t be too surprising there really isn’t anything there infrastructure wise.

all in all not a great idea to begin with. I remember back in the late 80’s when the dead came “camping” was just sleeping in the lot and bathing in the lake LOL. It would have been better if they’d just opened all the lots early and let people park overnight

It is a great venue with one glaring exception.
Why anyone thought it was a good idea to have wooden bleachers for seating instead of stadium seats I will NEVER understand.

State of the art amphitheater with great acoustics rendered unbearable for older people with back/joint issues.

I’m almost 60 I find it very comfortable…the rows are super wide and they didn’t cram as many 18” seats as they could. The wood is nice IMO

much better than individual seats as you can spread out a bit if there’s room

I got floors for Friday and bleachers for Saturday
unable to make it Thursday.
Great venue. Saw Phish there 2 years ago, Billy last year and Sessanta 2.0 just 2 weeks ago. I hate the drive from Mobile though

I watched last night on Nugs and Billy and Co. were on fire. The first hour flew by (though I was still at the office. For the last stretch of shows Alex has been on another level on that Fiddle.
