They finished with a better record than LSU. Would you say the same if we signed him?

Well it’s just all about the dough nowadays. LSU will have a better season this year

Yeah obviously money plays a big factor. Mirabel is a pretty highly respected OL coach though so it’s silly to say that. No high ranking OL is coming to LSU JUST to play for Davis. They’re getting paid too.

Freshman may not be too worried about how the team does their first year on campus either.

Might not bode well for us with the second ranked player in the class now that Oregon can just drop all their money on him since they are out of the race for Cantwell.

Or Oregon will just up their offer at the end to this guy like they did before signing day in December.

Nakos says 2 mil. I'd assume per for the time being. I'm no fan of Nakos but don't believe he's completely making these numbers up. He's within an acceptable range.

2nd in 3 major recruitments since December where UGA was moneywhipped. Texas with Terry, this one and they won with Curtis without the biggest offer. In this age you just have accept that some battles can't be won with loyalty and outrecruiting your opponent. In all 3 cases UGA were the longtime leader, sentimental favorite, had all the connections and by most respected opinions generally "won" the recruitment. Just not the $. When its happening to the best recruiting staff in the country that regularly it should signal to not get too invested in any kid anymore. Kind of bores the business to me. Yet I still follow along attentively.

Yea, sucks Mizzou lost this guy but he'll probably transfer in a year or 2 and maybe we'll get him then.

Now that all teams can buy players the SEC fans are whining. It’s just so funny. You guys are quickly realizing that stadium size and Wal Mart fans don’t equal deep money. You guys with all your chest thumping about “taking over stadiums” etc should respect the new game. It’s what your SEC conference has been doing for decades. All of a sudden on a level playing field the SEC dominance has been stopped. That’s why your conference commish is trying to stack the auto bids in the future. He knows who has the big money and it isn’t in towns like Athens or Starkville.

is the implication that big 10 schools weren’t doing the same? because of some faux moral high grind that never existed?

your entire diatribe seems to have multiple self contradictory claims. so because “payment” is now at parity we’re not as good? yet you also seem to imply SEC schools are essentially in poverty. which is it? only one can be true to the exclusion of the other
