The novia wants to try it out tomorrow night. Any good?

Yeah, I enjoyed it. Recommend the Dominican ribs appetizer and the Jerk Chicken entree.
Didn't get to try the drinks but they looked good, and the vibes in general were cool.
My only gripe is they only do tacos for lunch so I didn't get to try those. And the prices were a little high for the location IMO. In the future I'd probably stick to Happy Hour or lunch.

Def a solid place.
A bit pricey for the area but still good.
Was also bummed about the tacos. I get why they are trying to do it. They don’t want to just be a taco shop. Considering the prices of other entrees they want people to come in a dime on more than just $15 worth of tacos.
That said, do taco tuesdays or something. Having them only as a lunch option is annoying but understandable

I tried to take my mom to celebrate a late Mother's day yesterday, went there about 5:10pm on Tuesday, parking lot was slammed full, street parking was full within 2 blocks.
Parked, got there and it was a 45min wait for seating, inside or outside.
Was pretty shocked for them to be that busy on a Tuesday at 5pm, so we went elsewhere as we didn't want to wait, they must be doing something right to be that busy!

Haven’t been but read mostly good reviews. The drink menu looks great.

Have not been yet but some friends of mine rave about it.
They were going on about the Caribbean cocktails more so than the food, but still.

Strange to have two Long Island restaurants and then open a third location in Metairie?

I believe one of the owners is originally from Metairie.

They’ve been running Avo Taco in Port Orleans Brewery for several years.

I went last night. My GF loved the "ambiance" b/c she loves Caribbean vibes.
The best thing we had were the coconut shrimp and I don't even like coconut.
Ribs were good but a lil fatty. Reminded me of Zea Thai ribs, which I love.
Garlic salad was good, basically their version of a caesar.
Tacos were terrible.
My jerk chicken was ok. Not good, not bad. I'd get it with mashed potatoes next time if I got it again.
GF liked her coconut martini and passion fruit pina colada. My rum punch was ok.
I'd go back b/c my GF liked it a lot. I'd do the shrimp/ribs/salad again and try a different entree.
