What courses in Louisville are worth hitting up on a vacation?

I hear Valhalla is a pretty nice tract, but you may need to have a connection to get on.
Seriously though, why on Earth would Louisville be your vacation destination?

I'm going in about a month and will be playing Heritage Hill and Chariot Run.

This is a question for the wife. My plans are to hit the bourbon trail and play a round of golf or two.

Louisville is great. Cool little downtown area, good weather, the bourbon trail, great nearby hiking and kayaking, and good affordable golf in the area.

Munis so expect conditions to be less desirable than those below (slower greens etc…). Seneca is the choice of those 3, once held a tournament won by Gary Player. The most played course in the area so avoid it on weekends or afternoons.

Great choices, Heritage is my favorite in the area. Followed by Chariot Run and Nevel Meade, both have few trees so you’re going to get some sun. Nevel will be windy and Chariot will have the fastest greens.
Fuzzy Zoeller has two nice courses over in Indiana, Covered Bridge and Champions Point.

Heritage and Chariot as mentioned.
Nevel Meade is usually in good shape and is a fun, challenging course.
I’d avoid the munis like Seneca, Cherokee, Crescent Hill, Iroquois, etc unless you want a 5 1/2 hour round. Seneca really has good bones, but it gets so much play that conditioning is never close to optimal and it’s always a long day.

Chariot Run in Laconia, IN is a fantastic track. Only about 35-40 minutes from downtown Louisville. Heritage Hill, Nevel Meade are good. The two Fuzzy Zoeller north of the city get a lot of play but are decent.
