Umpire didn’t help down the stretch, but you can’t possibly feel good about making a run in Omaha with what we’ve got in the pen. There isn’t a soul down there that makes you feel good when they come in. Not one. Who cares if you throw 95+ if you can’t hit the plate

You couldn’t figure this out earlier in the season? This has been a known issue

Throw fricking strikes !!!!!

They’re streaky man. They’ve all made improvements from the start of the year. They’ve all got great stuff but you never know if they’ll come in throwing strikes, and that’s what kills us.

Someone will have to beat LSU for us to not win it. Who have you watched so much that you like more?

Tbh, our bullpen was much better both yesterday and today than they have been. Arkansas worked out guys, fouled off some really good pitches, and then we walked some. The end result wasn't great. But, I thought the bullpen looked much improved.

How can you feel good about making it out of a regional? Jay will likely start Anderson against the #4 seed, which means we’ll have to rely on Johnny Wholestaff to win game 3 against the #2 seed.

If you stay in winner's bracket, you really only need a couple reliable arms out of relief and if anything, maybe Shores ends up as another option with the way he has been throwing.

They waiting to peak in Omaha. Or atleast that’s what I keep telling myself

quote:well, for one, we won't face a team as good as the top 10 SEC teams during a regional. And, unless we fall apart next weekend, we're gonna finish top 3 in the SEC, flaws and all. I feel pretty damn good watching this team play this well in a really tough SEC that might get 6-8 of the top 8 seeds.

Like Ben McDonald said: The coach don’t care if you threw ball 4 at 95 mph. Lol

Everyone is reacting to the bullpen today and projecting failure in the postseason but fail to realize if this was the super regional we wouldn’t even be playing today.

Because we aren’t overly reactionary, stupid teenage girls.

Meyers looked great. Too bad he only faced one batter.

Teams can literally score multiple runs if they just never take the bat off their shoulder. I have never seen anything quite this inept.

I think we have one our best bullpens in recent memory to be honest.
Cowan, Noot, Evans (if you need him in a close game in game 1 or 2) are reliable. Even Shores is coming around. Primeaux and Ware are at least serviceable too.

Might could have been with you until this. Really don't want to put a player down, but Primeaux and serviceable don't really belong in the same sentence.

Shores, Williams and Mayers gave us 4 innings and only gave up one run to a great hitting team, so it wasn’t the entire pen today. And honestly, Ware wasn’t bad, either. He was competitive against the batter he faced. The better just beat him after a long at bat. And Fontenot once again cleaned up a mess, just like he did vs UT. He should move up in the pen order if he can do that.
The problem was 2 freshman relievers who just aren’t reliable. Rizy needs to drop in the rotation and Schmidt needs to be done for the year unless we have a blowout he can pitch in. Yeskie made a bad call going to them in that spot.
